Objective:
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Alternative Sentencing Programs is a privilege to participate in with written recommendation from the courts and final approval by the Sheriff’s Office.  These programs allow you to secure employment, support your family, maintain financial obligations, attend therapy and other scheduled events while serving your court ordered sentence.

Who Can and How to Apply:
Inmates sentenced to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility with written recommendation from the court may apply for Work Release, Home Detention or the Multiple Offender Program.  After sentencing you may submit an Advance ASP Application or prior to sentencing you may submit a Pre-Sentence Review Form.  Complete the form in its entirety and fax to 720-874-3319.  Once in custody, a Detention Classification Technician will complete the necessary paperwork and notify the Alternative Sentencing Programs staff.  To ensure all requirements are met prior to your acceptance into a program ASP deputies will conduct a background investigation and an interview.  Any questions regarding your ASP application must be directed to an ASP deputy by inmate request.

Weekender Participants:  See “Weekender Program Only” in the Qualifications/Requirements Helpful Resources link.

Violations:

Violation of the Alternative Sentencing Programs conditions, rules and regulations can and may result in reassignment to general population, disciplinary action, loss of good time, or additional charges filed against you.  This applies to all programs.

The Bottom Line:
Above all, even though the courts may have issued written recommendation to participate in a program, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office has final approval on all individual’s acceptance on case-by-case bases.
