Arapahoe County to Oversee Three Elections in 2020

Red flag with Vote

On the heels of record-breaking voter participation in the 2019 coordinated election, Arapahoe County—along with all Colorado counties—will administer three more in 2020.

For the first time in two decades the state will host a presidential primary. On March 3, AKA “Super Tuesday,” voters will be able to cast their ballots for Democrat and Republican candidates; most voters will be eligible to participate in the primary, which should drive turnout even higher than usual for a presidential contest. To determine your eligibility, or to make sure your voter registration is up to date, visit GoVoteColorado.gov.

Registered voters will also be able to cast their ballots in the June 30 Primary Election, which will determine each party’s candidates for municipal, county and statewide offices. The winners of the June primary will advance to the General Election on November 3, which will include any qualified ballot measures and judicial nominees in addition to the aforementioned races.

One additional new feature in 2020 is that 17-year-olds who will turn 18 before November 3 will be allowed to vote in all three Colorado elections.
